For those wishing to get out and about during their stay we can offer our guests a number of activities, all within walking distance of the lodge. All activities below can be arranged through the lodge, after you arrive and are free, unless otherwise stated.

Cultural Village

Only a short walk from the lodge you can experience life in a traditional Malawian cultural village. The village offers Malawian food, dancing, singing, drumming and a number of other arts and crafts.

Permaculture Centre

A bit further on down the road you can visit Nature’s Gift Permaculture Centre, where you can find out more about low cost, practical solutions to help promote a more sustainable answer to Malawi and the world’s growing food crisis.

Birdwatching

If bird watching takes your fancy, then Kumbali lodge and grounds can offer a true twitchers paradise. The lodge itself is situated on a 650Ha forest reserve which provides a natural habitat to many different of species of birds, some of which are very rare elsewhere in Malawi.
